At this age, the focus of your child's Martial Arts training is developing basic motor skills and listening skills. Children are generally ready to start classes around age 4 but every child develops at a different speed. An orientation will be scheduled to assess the potential student and see if he/she is ready. Grandmaster Debbie has been teaching children for over 40 years. Including her children and grandchildren that are currently on their own martial arts journey at Tiger Martial Arts.
Tiny Tigers will learn a variety of new skills while having fun and engaging in our exciting but educational activities. Some drills might include slow block-fast block, this is where the instructor teaches the student how to block properly while making a game out of it. Another fun listening drill is Master Says. This is similar to Simon Says but incorporating all the martial arts skills the Tiny Tiger has learned.
These little champions work off a curriculum all about personal progression and practical expectations. Along the course of the students training, they are awarded stripes to note their progress. Some stripes are for doing a good job, some are for breaking through personal barriers and others are for behavior at home and approved by mom or dad.
We all know it's much easier to hold these Tiny Tigers attention when they are training at the school, but not everyone has that option today. For this we have developed an extremely interactive alternate training method that is both fun and safe. Children can train completely at home, at the school or a combination of the two(hybrid).
